Résumé La désinfection des chambres aux rayons ultraviolets (UVL) est apparue comme un complément au nettoyage manuel des chambres des patients. Deux différents dispositifs UVL sans contact ont été mis en place dans trois hôpitaux du système de santé pour réduire les infections à Clostridioides difficiles (CDI). Les taux d’ICD dans les trois établissements sont restés inchangés après la mise en œuvre de la désinfection aux UVL. Les taux d’ICD avant intervention étaient généralement faibles, et les données d’un hôpital ont montré un taux élevé de respect du nettoyage manuel, ce qui peut avoir limité l’impact de la désinfection aux UVL.
Abstract Ultraviolet light (UVL) room disinfection has emerged as an adjunct to manual cleaning of patient rooms. Two different no-touch UVL devices were implemented in three health system hospitals to reduce Clostridioides difficile infections (CDI). CDI rates at all three facilities remained unchanged following implementation of UVL disinfection. Pre-intervention CDI rates were generally low, and data from one hospital showed high compliance with manual cleaning, which may have limited the impact of UVL disinfection.
