Study: Opinions differ on UV devices

Selon une étude récente publiée dans l’American Journal of Infection Control, la majorité des personnes interrogées se disent prêtes à accepter un délai d’admission des patients pouvant aller jusqu’à 30 minutes afin d’utiliser un appareil UV-C pour le nettoyage de la chambre terminale. Alors que la quasi-totalité du personnel et des patients de l’EVS interrogés (94 % et 90 %, respectivement) ont déclaré qu’ils seraient prêts à gérer le temps supplémentaire nécessaire pour utiliser l’appareil, seuls 85 % des travailleurs de la santé ont déclaré qu’ils le feraient.

According to a recent study published in the American Journal of Infection Control, the majority of survey respondents say they are willing to accept up to a 30-minute patient admission delay in order to use a UV-C device for terminal room cleaning. While nearly all of the EVS staff and patients surveyed (94% and 90%, respectively) said they would be willing to deal with the extra time needed to use the device, only 85% of health care workers said they would.
